CITATION
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire
Gazetted 1 January 1946, p47
As Officer-in-Charge of daily servicing, (armament section, RAF Waddington), Flying Officer HECTOR has displayed great tenacity of purpose and resolution.  During an enemy attack on the 3rd March 1945, in which the incendiary bomb dump was set on fire, it was chiefly due to his courage and cool organisation of fire fighting efforts that a major catastrophe was averted and the fire was prevented from spreading to the main bomb dump.  On two other occasions, Flying Officer HECTOR rendered safe bombs carrying long delay pistols, thus avoiding injuries to personnel and damage to equipment.
