Gallipoli, Egypt and Western Europe. He has done continuous good work for four years and four months.  On several occasions when the column was subjected to heavy shell fire he showed an utter disregard for danger, and attended the wounded men and horses, and got the ammunition through on all occasions

For consistent gallantry and devotion to duty under shellfire whilst in charge of ammunition wagons at the gun positions and in particular on the night of 21st/22nd August 1918 near Puisieux, whilst bot the road and the battery positions were being heavily shelled, he guided every team into the gun position and it was only by his coolness and example that the supply of ammunition to the guns could have been carried out.
