France, April 1916.  For conspicuous gallantry in action.  He made repeated trips with ammunition to the guns, despite being under heavy fire.  He set a splendid example to his men throughout, and enabled the battery to keep a supply of ammunition

France, June 1918.  For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.  When the battery position was too heavily shelled for occupation, this Warrant Officer was of great assistance in bringing up the teams and removing the guns to a safer place.  With the help of an NCO and one man he limbered up the six guns in turn, under heavy shell fire
