Ayan Kara, 14 November 1917.  For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.  He showed great skill and resource in handling his troop when heavily pressed by the enemy.  He led forward his few remaining men to an exposed position, and greatly assisted in repelling an attack by superior numbers of the enemy
