Period September 1916 to February 1917.  For consistebt gallantry and coolness under fire and devotion to duty at all times.  This officer has se an excellent example of courage and energy during the period now under consideration.  He was recommended for an immediate award of the Military Cross in October 1916.  He has served for long periods in Gallipoli and France.
