CAMERON Ewan
9/123, Squadron Sergeant Major, Otago Mounted Rifles, WW1
Home Guard Service, WW2

CITATION
Distinguished Conduct Medal
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.  During a period of heavy bombardment, when the line had been continuously shelled for forty-eight hours, this Warrant Officer showed a fine and very valuable example of fearless disregard for personal safety.  Hardly ever under cover, he was continually moving up and down the line, helping the men to improve their positions and attending to the wounded.  His gallant behaviour inspired the men with great confidence, and he was undoubtedly the means of saving many casualties
