CITATION
Distinguished Service Order
Gazetted 14 October 1943, p4545
He has served with distinction in the campaign of the Western Desert, Libya, Egypt to Tunisia and has at all times displayed the greatest devotion to duty, giving his utmost, day and night, making his work of a very high order. His duties for the last twenty months as Senior Supply Officer have been carried out excellently many times under very adverse conditions – bad weather – enemy action interfering with the line of communications and difficulties of the retreat and pursuit. He is cool and collected under fire concentrating entirely on the problem in hand without thought of self. His continued devotion to duty has contributed largely to the success of the operations of the N.Z Div and N.Z Corps
