For services during the Ypres offensive 1917, and operations on the Somme in March 1918.  During the winter 1917-18 at Ypres this Officer at great personal risk carried out daily reconnaissances for the siting of the lines of defence in the Polygon Wood Sector when enemy shelling was heavy.  His work as CRE has been of great value to the Division.
