This officer has a continuous record of successful work since the beginning of the War, having never been absent from his duties during the whole period except for very short intervals of leave. He succeeded to the position of AA&QMG after very good service as DAQMG, and his work has been of a very high order. I consider he has well earned the reward for which he is now recommended.

Also during the evacuation of the ANZAC position, Major AVERY, though thrown on his own resources, by his skilful manipulation of the means at his disposal and his untiring efforts kept the troops of the division supplied up to the end. This officer has done very good work ever since he took up the work of Senior Supply Officer & is deserving of special mention.
