During the operations on the Somme and latterly during the winter months, this officer has shown great attention to duty with extremely satisfactory results.  The Divisional Train, under his Command, has improved one hundred percent and he deserves special recognition.

As Officer Commanding New Zealand Divisional Train during the operations on the Somme under sonsiderable difficulties owing to bad weather, was very successful in bringing up supplies.  This officer, since he joined the Division, has uniformly done good work
