For good work and devotion to duty while Adjutant of the NZ Divisional Train, 26th February to 20th September 1917. In this capacity his administrative work has been excellent and his devotion to duty and attention to detail mark him out as an officer of great promise. This Officer has further rendered conspicuously good service from the outbreak of war, first in Samoa and secondly as a Company Officer, especially in the Somme Campaign, September-November 1916, where his ability was most marked.
