For acts of Gallantry and great devotion to duty during operations on October 4th and 5th 1917 at Gravenstafel and Abraham Heights. This Officer
by his untiring energy and care for the wounded and coolness under shell fire was a source of strength to the bearers and dressers working with
him. When his post was shelled he went on dressing and evacuating the wounded. He worked without rest for 72 hours and in spite of the heavy
shelling at times and wet weather he by his untiring energy dressing his wounded and quickly evacuated them thus keeping his dressing station
clear. He set a fine example to his men and has always done meritorious work.
