Passchendaele 12 October 1917.  For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Part of the battalion was held up by an enemy strongpoint soon after the attack started. He worked onto a flank alone and captured an enemy machine-gun and two prisoners. His prompt and courageous action enabled the advance to proceed

Gallantry and devotion to duty.  Lance Corporal VOYLE in Flers Support Trench on the 30th September 1916, when a Company bombing party was held up by an enemy strong point, worked a few men round the flanks in the open and sniped the enemy.  This action required coolness, courage and dash, and these qualities were shown by this NCO
