France, June 1917 – March 1918.  For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.  Both in the line and out of it this Warrant Officer has carried out the duties of his responsible position with an unflagging devotion worthy of the highest praise, and has displayed much gallantry and determination when in charge of carrying parties, working under heavy fire over rough and hilly country.
